We are a first cheque VC that doesn’t need PMF or revenue to make an investment. For the journey to pre-seed, we believe that:
unique insights are more important than revenue
speed of learning is more important than number of customers
identifying the right metrics is more important than chasing arbitrary metrics
many people will misunderstand the scale of your vision
staying lean until PMF is usually the best approach
the best companies often start by achieving a lot with a little

First cheques from £50k to £750k, plus follow-on capacity
We typically write our initial cheque in first rounds up to £1m
We can also play a meaningful role in rounds up to £2m
We reserve capital to follow-on into the best opportunities in our portfolio

Lead, co-lead, selectively co-invest
Often the first to believe; we typically lead or invest solo on our first cheque
We sometimes co-lead alongside other like-minded funds
Occasionally we follow other top tier funds in larger rounds
While we often participate in follow-on rounds for our portfolio, we rarely lead these

We focus on founders pursuing uncapped global opportunities from a base in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
We believe that outlier founders and venture capital are widely misunderstood in these territories. This is why we exist.
